Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how JMRSquared IT (Pty) Ltd (CIPC Registration No. K2024351266), registered in South Africa (“we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use Auto Podcast Pro and our website. We process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
1. Our privacy-first design
Auto Podcast Pro performs all audio and video analysis locally on your device. Your footage, audio, and Premiere Pro projects are never uploaded to us or to any third party as part of the editing process. The Service works fully offline for editing, so your client work stays on your machine.
2. Information we collect
To provide accounts, subscriptions, and updates, we collect a limited set of data:
- Account information — the email address you use to sign in.
- Authentication data — one-time sign-in codes used to verify your email and keep your account secure.
- Subscription information — your subscription status and billing history. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we do not store your full card details.
- Update & version data — when the panel checks for updates it sends its current version so we can tell it whether a newer release is available. This request may include your IP address as a normal part of internet communication.
- Aggregate usage statistics — non-identifying, aggregated information such as which features are used and the app version, used to improve the Service. This data is not used to identify you and is not sold or used for advertising.
We do not collect or receive your video or audio footage, your project files, or the contents of your timelines.
3. How we use your information
- to create and secure your account and authenticate sign-in;
- to manage your free trial and subscription and process payments;
- to deliver updates and let the panel know when a new version is available;
- to understand, in aggregate, how the Service is used so we can improve it; and
- to provide support and respond to your requests.
4. Legal basis
We process your personal information to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), to pursue our legitimate interest in operating and improving the Service, to comply with legal obligations, and, where required, with your consent.
5. Sharing & operators
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the operators (service providers) that help us run the Service, each of which processes data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards:
- Paystack — Payment processing and subscription billing.
- Supabase — Account authentication, subscription records, and download hosting.
- Cloudflare — Website hosting and content delivery.
Some of these operators may process data outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection as required by POPIA. We may also disclose information where required by law.
6. Cookies & tracking
Our website does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Our usage statistics are aggregated and non-identifying, so no cookie-consent banner is required for them. Essential technical storage may be used to keep you signed in and to operate the Service.
7. Data retention
We keep account and subscription information for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to meet legal, accounting, and tax obligations. When it is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information. Because editing happens on your device, the most sensitive material — your footage — never leaves your control.
9. Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- request correction or deletion of your personal information;
- object to certain processing; and
- lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your rights have been infringed.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at tech@jmrsquared.com.
10. Children
The Service is intended for professional and adult users and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Please review this page periodically.
12. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, and for matters relating to our Terms & Conditions, contact us at tech@jmrsquared.com.
